New World: Aeternum Season of the Divide brings new content and changes that reshape player-versus-player (PvP) battles, expeditions, progression, and more.
PC and console players can enjoy Season 8 highlights such as:
New PvP Modes & Events
Capture the Flag (May 16–19 Preview): A 10v10 mode featuring fast-paced action, jump pads, powerups, and new flag-carrying mechanics. And players can help name the map during the preview event!
3v3 Arena Map Preview: Fight in New World: Aeternum’s largest arena yet, set in a collapsing temple grove.
Outpost Rush – Barebones: A new twist on the Outpost Rush mode, where gear perks are disabled, and everyone is set to max gear score to ensure a level playing field.
New Outpost Rush Map - Coral Divide: The latest Outpost Rush map features oceanic themes, a focus on vertical combat, and tactical flank routes.
Hourly Map Rotation: PvP maps rotate hourly instead of every two weeks. The first maps to get hourly rotations are 3v3 Arenas. They will come to Outpost Rush maps in a later update.
Hardcore Seasonal Server (June)
Permanent Death, Legendary Rewards: The Hardcore Seasonal Server features streamlined leveling, accelerated crafting, and unique death mechanics. The best rewards are reserved for the unfallen.
Seasonal Pass & Artifacts
Unlock new corruption-themed cosmetics, emotes, and powerful Artifacts like Vampire Vestments, Chaos Blunderbuss, and Lich Gloves.
The Premium Track is available for 20,000 Marks of Fortune, and features everything in the Free Track plus more!
PvP & Combat Overhauls
Major changes to Target Lock and Aim Assist to restore skill-based play.
In Arenas and Outpost Rush, there are new PvP Camps and a Spectator Camera. The new Ready Up feature allows players to skip the pre-match phase if enough players opt in.
Combat balance adjustments across weapons, perks, and survivability potions.
New Perks and Gems add build diversity and counterplay options.
Barbershop Now Live
Fully customize your character with the Barbershop Token, including body type, face, hair, tattoos, and more.
Expeditions Unleashed
Face level 70 world bosses like Mahantaram, Khepri, and Ifrit during limited-time events.
Quality of Life Enhancements
Improved map icons, loot windows, gear set management, and social features.
Massive bug fixes across dungeons, UI, audio, combat, AI, and visuals.
Default renderer is now DX12, with DLSS 4 support and enhanced graphics for supported hardware.
